Experiences reflect where learning becomes action.
This is the final pillar of the CARE framework and the most ambitious. When culture is established, agency is practiced, and roles are understood, learners are ready to create experiences that reach beyond the classroom.
These six workshops examine what it means to design learning that connects to the real world, builds systems thinkers, and develops learners who act on what they know with genuine purpose. They are organized by how they engage the head, the heart, and the hands, so you can choose the entry point that fits where your team is right now.
A capable young person is not simply one who has mastered a curriculum. They are someone who can reason through evidence, feel the weight of what they are learning, and use what they know to make a plan and follow it through with resilience.
The Head: reasoning through experiences
These workshops build the intellectual tools learners need to understand complex ideas, see how systems connect, and move from surface knowledge to transferable understanding.
Workshop 01 · 2 Days
Building Conceptual Understanding
Anchor learning in transferable concepts so knowledge moves beyond facts and into genuine insight. This workshop examines what concept-based learning looks like in practice, how to identify the big ideas that hold a unit together, and how to design learning experiences that help learners build understanding they can carry across subjects, ages, and contexts.

The Benefits of Systems Thinking
Develop the ability to see how parts connect to form a whole, and how changing one thing changes everything. This workshop introduces systems thinking as a core learning disposition, examines how it applies across disciplines and real-world challenges, and explores how to build it into curriculum design so learners graduate with the capacity to navigate complexity.
The Heart: feeling deeply through experiences
These workshops focus on the emotional dimension of deep learning, helping learners connect personally to what they are studying and act on what they care about.

Learning That Lasts
Design learning experiences that connect deeply enough to stay with learners long after the unit ends. This workshop examines what makes learning stick, how emotional resonance and personal relevance shape memory and understanding, and how to design units that learners carry with them into their lives rather than leave at the classroom door.

Bringing About Action from the Heart
Engage learners in causes that matter so their learning becomes a genuine force for change. This workshop examines how to connect curriculum to real issues learners care about, what it looks like when learning produces authentic action rather than simulated projects, and how to help learners move from caring about something to doing something meaningful about it.
The Hands: creating experiences that matter
These workshops are about doing. They focus on the practical structures that take learning beyond the classroom walls and into the communities and world that learners are part of.

Exploring Local and Global Connections
Take learning beyond the classroom by finding the threads that connect local experience to global understanding. This workshop examines how to identify and design for local-to-global connections in any unit, how to help learners see themselves as part of larger systems, and how to make intercultural understanding a lived practice rather than a stated value.

From Service Learning to Lifelong Learners
Build the habits of contribution and reflection that turn a project into a lifelong disposition. This workshop examines what genuine service learning looks like beyond fundraisers and one-off events, how to design sustained action projects that develop real community impact, and how to help learners reflect on what they are learning about themselves through the act of giving back.

Sometimes a school needs something that sits between two workshops. A team that has done the conceptual work in Workshop 1 but wants to connect it directly to the service learning structures in Workshop 6. A group that needs the emotional conditions from Workshop 3 and the local-to-global design tools from Workshop 5 woven together into a format that is entirely theirs.
